Computer components: common questions

RAM temporarily holds data for tasks in use. Storage keeps files and applications when the computer is switched off. They have different jobs.

The CPU handles a wide range of instructions and calculations. The GPU is designed to process graphics and other tasks that can use many parallel calculations.

Components produce heat as they work. Heatsinks and fans move heat away so components can operate within their intended temperatures.
